Survivors of Murder Victims

Survivors of Murder Victims, Inc.

We publish a monthly newsletter.  It provides information, in-sight and awareness.  It reaches out to families of murder victims, other support groups, law enforcement agencies and to legal associations.

Some people in our support group have reached the stage of healing that gives them the strength to want to make a difference in our society, allowing them to tell the story of their loss to young people in the California Youth Authority Schools and in local counnty detention facilities.  Others make presentations to the pre-release classes at the California Medical Facility (CMF) and State Prison (CSP) in Vacaville.  [This is strictly a voluntary activity]  These classes are attended by incarcerated persons who have completed their sentences and are being released completely free, or free on parole.

While presentations have been made to students at a few schools, we are looking forward to becoming more involved in telling our stories at junior high and high schools in local areas and to organizations where we can awaken the feelings of empathy and cause awareness of the problems faced by those who are surviving the murder of their loved ones.  A very long and arduous task.
